Carl Thompson Jr. Obituary

Carl "Bud" Thompson Jr, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Bud graduated from Washington County High School in 1998, where he played baseball and basketball. He was the president of the Baptist Student Union. He attended Alabama Southern Community College and the University of Alabama, but became a certified electrician. He also made many friends. He became a travel bug after taking a tour of Europe with his friends. Having the travel bug, his career allowed him to work all across America.

Carl  had a passion for hunting, gardening and music. He enjoyed attending concerts. His favorite was Widespread Panic and The Rolling Stones. He was very knowledgeable about the music he had interest in. But his greatest passion was his wife, Elise. She was the love of his life and soulmate. The Lord took her away too early in 2021, but now, they are together again.

Bud enjoyed watching SEC college football, especially Alabama. He also enjoyed watching Alabama baseball. He loved grilling during the games and spending time with family and friends. He loved all of his family, but his niece Stella, was his pride and joy.

Carl was a gentle giant and loved helping others. He was the type that would give you the shirt off of his back if he thought you needed it. He was a caring and giving man. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Carl is survived by: His father, Carl Wayne Thompson Sr; his mother, Suzanne Thompson; his brother, John Claud Owen "JCO"; his sister, Lori Thompson Johnson; his nieces, Stella Owen and Kaitlin Johnson; his nephew, Kody Johnson; his uncles, Nelson (Levern) Thompson, James McPhearson and John (Nancy) McPhearson ;aunts,  Mary Jane (Rush)Watson, Sherri McIlwain, Debbie (Marty) Pierson and Joan (Tom) Doby. great aunts: Sally Dahlberg Knight, Elma Heathcoe, Edith Tate and Francis Ledbetter and great uncles: Jerry Thompson and Dean Thompson.
