James Kenneth Baxter, 79, of Tibbie, Al, passed away at his home on January 22, 2024.
Mr. Baxter was a humble man of God. He loved being a member and singing in the choir at the Fairhope Baptist Church, where he was on the cemetery committee. He was also the song leader at Center Ridge Baptist Church in his younger years. His favorite hymn was, From the Cross to the Crown.
Mr. Baxter was a true family man. He loved attending every family gathering. He enjoyed spending a lot of his time with his grand and great-grandchildren. They all fondly called him "Pappy".
Mr. Baxter enjoyed many hobbies. He loved to be out on the water fishing or spending his time on wood working. He could build anything. He was an avid Auburn football fan. He always had a big, sweet tooth, he loved his candy. Mr. Baxter has Three beautiful children by his late wife Charlene Humphries Baxter. Paula, Anna, and Austin of which he absolutely adored.
Mr. Baxter will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him.
Mr. Baxter is survived by his loving wife, Anne Baxter; his sons; Austin (Jill) Baxter and Douglas (Heather) Daniels; his daughters: Paula (David) Cheatle, Anna (Kelly) Waite, Diana (Kenneth) Cunningham, Beth (Tell) Brown and Melissa (Wesley) Williams; his sisters, Marjean Cozad, Annette Caten and Betty Moorer; Twenty-four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Baxter is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Katie Anna Baxter, his late wife Charlene Humphries Baxter, his brother. John T. Baxter; his sister, Wilma Kilpatrick and his grandchildren, Bailey Baxter and Frances Daniels.
Visitation will be held at Fairhope Baptist Church in Tibbie, Al, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM, Funeral at 2:00 PM with Bro. Larry Darden officiating and interment to follow at Fairhope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Andin Cunningham, Austin Payne, Trent Brown, Aidan Baxter, Caleb Baxter, Scott Trujillo, Collin Cheatle and Cody Cheatle
Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Howard, Odell Morris, Grady Beech, Timmy Beech, Joe Smith and a host of nephews.
