Laura Cozad Obituary
Mrs. Cozad Passed away on Thursday, March 14,2024, at Mobile Infirmary Hospital.
Mrs. Cozad was born to her parents, Roland and Katie Anna Baxter, on June 18, 1940. She was raised and attended school in Chatom, Al. She graduated with the class of 1958. Shortly after high school, she decided to move to Birmingham, Al, where she met her true love, Jack Cozad. The two were married on March 18, 1961. Together they raised three beautiful children.
Mrs. Cozad was an active member of Eastern Star. She loved attending church and loved serving the Lord. She was a bookkeeper in the medical field at several establishments. After retiring and moving back to Chatom, Al, she came out of retirement and went back to work.
Mrs. Cozad was a beautiful person who loved her family beyond measure. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They affectionately called her MawMaw. She also enjoyed watching the humming birds. Mrs. Cozad was one of a kind, a lady with a heart of gold. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Mrs. Cozad is survived by: her son, Kevin (Tina) Cozad; daughter, Laura Vest; sisters, Annette Caten and Betty (James) Moorer; grandchildren, Jackie (Glenn) Rumer, Jamie Davis, Charles (Samantha) Morrison, Lorrie (Josh) Gilchrist, Bryan Cozad, Corey Cozad, Cody (Regina) Cozad, Dale Gann, Emily Gann and Taylor Thrash, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cozad is preceded in death by: her husband, Jack Arthur Cozad, parents, Roland and Katie Anna Baxter; brothers, J. Kenneth Baxter and John T. Baxter; sister, Wilma Kilpatrick; son, Marvin Dale Cozad.
Visitation will be held at Spring Bank Baptist Church in Chatom, Al on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM, funeral at 2:00 PM with her son, Kevin Cozad officiating. There will be no interment/graveside service.
