Lula Downey Knapp, 92, passed away at her home in Tibbie, Al on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Mrs. Knapp was a life long resident of Washington County. Mrs. Knapp worked at Vanity Fair until she retired. She enjoyed gardening. She had such a passion for raising and taking care of her plants and flowerbeds. The yellow rose was her favorite flower.
Mrs. Knapp always had an open door policy. She loved being around and taking care of children, whether it be the children from the neighborhood or the children she fostered. She loved cooking for her family. She also enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Knapp was a true Southern Baptist, and she loved all of God's children. She was a beautiful lady inside and out and she will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Knapp is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn (Rusty) King and Faye (AC) Motes; her sisters, Bonnie (Ray) Johnson and Ann Seibert; her grandchildren, Renee Specht, Michelle Sanderson and AJ (Mylisa) Motes; her great-Grandchildren, Emma Motes, Sarah Motes, Maggie Motes, Michael (Kayla) Sanderson and Jacob (Brittnee) Sanderson and her great great-grandchild, Anna Sanderson.
Mrs. Knapp is preceded in death by: her husband, Ben Knapp; her parents, Bryant and Lola Lee Downey; Her brothers, Robert Downey and Dean Downey and her sisters, Theodocia Downey, Francis Turner and Vivian Harris
A Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Community Church in Hawthorn, Al, on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Interment to follow in Bethel Cemetery (Great-Grandson) Bro. Michael Sanderson officiating
