Thomas Eugene Powell Jr.

Thomas Eugene Powell Jr, 59, passed away at his home in St. Stephens, Al, on January 27, 2024.

     Tommy was one of a Kind. He loved playing and teaching his children how to play the guitar. He was the soul of every gathering. If Tommy was worried or bothered by something, you would have never known it, because he never showed it. 

     Tommy always had a smile on his face, and treated everyone he met like a friend. He was known to his grandchildren as Paw-Paw. They loved him, and like wise, he loved them.

     Tommy and Marie were married for 37 years. Love at first sight, his wife said, and knowing both of them, that is surely the truth. His children fondly remember him being a very structured Dad, but it was because he loved them and wanted them to have the best life possible. 

     Tommy will be sorely missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Tommy is survived by: his wife, Marie Powell; his mother, Jenece Turner; his son, Marcus (Angela) Powell; his daughters, Amber Weaver, Ashley (Joshua) Lawson and Leah N. Powell; his grandchildren, Riley Powell, Marcus Powell Jr, Madelyn Powell, Mason Powell, Kamdyn Hinson, Alexa Lawson and Joshua Lawson II.

Tommy is preceded in death by: his father, Thomas Eugene Powell Sr.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date and time.
