Connie Claiborne Johnston, Sr.

Connie Claiborne Johnston, Sr., 78, passed away January 13, 2019. He was a native and resident of Washington County, AL. Connie attended Leroy High School and enjoyed attending church services at Sims Chapel United Methodist Church.  As a teenager, he helped his grandfather in the sawmill. Connie worked as an ironworker for Brown & Root Construction for many years. He was an avid hunter. He hunted deer but squirrel hunting was his favorite. Connie was a big Alabama fan and the 4th of July was his favorite holiday. His biggest hobby of all was pitching washers and he was always the one to beat. Connie will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019, 10:00 AM ~ 11:00 AM, Sims Chapel United Methodist Church, McIntosh, AL. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Bro. Odie Lister & Bro. Justin Sullivan, & Bro. Mike Reid will be officiating with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing. Interment will be at Sims Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.
