Ernest Willard Nichols

October 31, 1931 ~ June 11, 2018 (age 86)

Ernest Willard "Nick" Nichols, 86, a native of Walker Springs, Alabama, passed away June 11, 2018 at Mobile Infirmary after a brief hospital stay. Born October 31, 1931, to Grady and Ernestine Nichols of Walker Springs, he was the 2nd oldest of eight children. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cora Louise and their two infant sons. He was a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He served his country in the United States Navy. He became certified as a master welder and worked many construction sites throughout Clarke County and surrounding areas prior to his retirement. He was an avid gardener and loved to share the bounty of his garden with family and friends. He is survived by daughters Judy Richardson and son-in-law Lee Richardson of Florida, daughter Janet Nichols and her long term partner, Larry James of Grove Hill. He s also survived by sisters, Gradine Simpson and Gloria Anderson both of Huntsville, as well as three brothers Phil, Gerald, and Don Nichols all of Walker Springs. He is also survived by many other family members, nieces, nephews, and friends. At his request, no service will be held. There will be a celebration of his life for his family, friends, and neighbors at the home of Ruth and Eddie Pezent July 28th from 3 p.m. To 5 p.m.
