Michael 'Mike" Kent Buckalew, 65, passed away on October 3, 2018, at Providence Hospital. He was a native of Thomasville, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL. Mike joined the US Army and served for a time in Germany. Most of his life he worked as a pipefitter or was a supervisor to the pipefitters at various places in Gonzales, LA. Mike loved owning and riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles and was a member of American Bikers Active Toward Education (ABATE). On some occasions, he would ride with his wife, Nikki, and other motorcycle enthusiasts, on charity rides. Mike loved crawfish boils. He enjoyed spending family time with his family and the "Walker Springs Bunch" on the river and creek. Mike could build anything and had a creative mind that he passed on to his children. When he became unable to work, due to a surgery that went terribly wrong, he would whittle special trinkets out of one piece of wood. He made one for each grandchild.
Mike, Daddy, PawPaw, BuckBuck, or Uncle Buck, as he was known to different family members......was... until he became ill.... Mike was like the Alabama Crimson Tide...unstoppable at life and any challenge he faced!
