Mrs. Annie Pearl Thornton passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Born on October 23, 1948, to John and Lonie Harris, she lived a life rooted in love, hard work, laughter, and devotion to the people she cherished most. Annie Pearl was a woman who found beauty in life’s simple blessings and made those around her feel the warmth of her caring spirit every day. Whether she was outside cutting grass, tending to her garden, or simply sitting and watching the hummingbirds she adored, she found joy in the wonders of God’s creation. To her, those tiny birds were something special, almost mystical, and she never lost her sense of wonder while admiring them. Her garden was more than a hobby; it was an extension of her loving heart. She took pride in growing and canning the fruits of her labor, always making sure her family could enjoy the goodness she had worked so hard to provide. The meals, jars, and memories she shared from that garden were gifts of love that will continue to be treasured. Above all, Annie Pearl loved her family deeply. Being surrounded by those she loved brought her greatest happiness, and no title brought her more pride than being called Granny by her beloved grandchildren. She delighted in their presence and poured her love into every moment spent with them, creating memories they will carry in their hearts forever. Annie Pearl was also known for her playful spirit and joyful personality. She could be wonderfully silly, and her laughter had a way of filling the room and lifting the hearts of everyone around her. She was the kind of person who could make an ordinary day feel special simply by being herself. Her strength, kindness, humor, and unwavering love will remain a lasting legacy to all who knew her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the joy she brought into the lives of her family and friends will never be forgotten. Mrs. Annie Pearl Thornton leaves behind a beautiful memory that will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
