Arlie Vernell Ashley

Arlie Vernell Ashley, 83, passed away on January 15, 2021 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. He was born on December 5, 1937 in Crosby, Mississippi.  He graduated from Crosby High School in Crosby, Mississippi in 1954.  He joined the Navy in 1954 and retired from service in 1974 with the rank of Master Chief (E9).  He received numerus service medals and letters of recommendation for his service.  He worked and retired from Olin Chemical Corporation in McIntosh, Alabama with 20 years of service. 

He was married to his wife Trudy for almost 51 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude (Trudy) Ashley and a son Stephen (Randy) Ashley. 

He is survived by his sons, Wayne Ashley of Gilbertown, Alabama and Timothy (Dawn) Ashley of Loxley.  Two grandchildren, Andrew Ashley and Aaron Ashley of Loxley, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021, 5:00 PM, at St. Stephens Funeral Home, St. Stephens, AL. Graveside Service will be Wednesday, January 20, 2021, 1:00 PM, at Daphne Baptist Church Cemetery, Daphne, AL. Bro. Brian Gentle will be officiating with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing.
