Mrs. Betty Jewel Deese Moss departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at The Retreat in Mobile, Alabama. She was a gentle soul whose radiant spirit touched everyone around her. Mrs. Moss found immense joy in tending her garden, nurturing each bloom and leaf as she reveled in the splendor of God’s creation. The outdoors was her haven, a place where she could bask in the sunshine and inhale the fragrance of nature’s wonders.
Her love for fishing was unwavering, regardless of the day’s catch, as it was the tranquil moments on the water that she cherished most. In the heart of her home, Mrs. Moss delighted in preparing delicious meals for her family, filling their gatherings with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her lovingly crafted dishes. Her greatest treasures, however, were her beloved family and precious grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mamaw.”
As a young bride and devoted mother, she earned the endearing name “Little Mama” from her children and heritage children, a testament to her nurturing nature and boundless affection. Mrs. Moss was known for her selfless generosity and unwavering kindness, always ready to extend a helping hand or a compassionate word to those in need. Her legacy is one of love, strength, and grace—an enduring light that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though Mrs. Moss has journeyed home to be with her Lord and Savior, her memory will remain a cherished blessing, an inspiration, and a source of comfort to her family, friends, and all whose lives she so beautifully touched.
She is survived by her Son Jerry L. Moss. Brothers Billy (Kay) Boler and Buddy (Angie) Deese. Sister Mary (Joe Gene) Goldman. Grandchildren Courtney E. Carney and Dylan Moss. Great grandchildren Payton Williamson and Daryl Carney. She is Preceded in death by her Parents Harry L. and Jewel Kirby Deese. Brothers James F. Deese and William "Chubby" Deese.
