Burton Leon Harris, 88, passed away February 24, 2020 at Washington County Hospital. He was a pastor for 58 years, and a chaplain at the jail at one time. Leon worked at drug education council for 25 years and taught drug education and counseled in schools in Clarke, Washington, Mobile, and Baldwin Counties. He was a manager at solid waste. Leon was a radar operator in the U.S. Air Force for 8 years and served during The Korean Conflict. He was a Security Guard at Ciba Geigy for many years. Leon was the owner of Leonell Camps and Frankville Hunting Club. He was County Coroner for 15 years and a deputy with the Washington County Sheriffs Department for a long time. Leon was preceded in death by the love of his life Billie Nell Johnson Harris who he had been married to for 54 years. He leaves his daughter Susan Harris Moss, Grandsons Kyle Moss and Wife Charlotte Goldman Moss, Ashton Moss Jackson and husband Greg Jackson, Ron Moss, Great Grands Bladyn Harris Moss, Skyler Arminda Jackson and Graham Wesley Moss and a brother Arthur Harris, and many nieces and nephews and friends to cherish his memories.

Services will be held Saturday February 29, 2020 at Frankville Baptist Church, Frankville Alabama. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM preceded by the visitation at 10:00 AM. Bro. Winston Brooks will be officiating with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing. Interment will be at the family cemetery.
