Charles Bing Busby

Charles Bing Busby left this earthly world for his heavenly home on April 18, 2021, Leaving his legacy of his large, loving family and community of friends.

Charles served in the Air Force from 1961-1965 and was stationed at Lackland AFB, San Antonio Texas, Amarillo Texas AFB, and Seymour Johnson AFB Goldsboro, NC.

He retired from Ciba Geigy after 35 years of service.

As owner and operator of Busby Farms and Busby Scrap Metal for many decades, he touched many lives and created many life-long friendships.

Charles was a faithful member of Howardtown Baptist Church and was loved and respected by his family, friends and community.  And in his own words his life was directed by his faith:

“Through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the support of my church family at Howardtown Baptist Church in Tibbie, Alabama, all of this has been made possible. All the years of success with my cattle business has prospered through my faith and dedication with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Wanda; daughters: Yvonne (Mike) Thornton, Angie (Robert) Gilley, Tammy (Charlie) Carpenter, Terri Ann (Terry) Flowers, Lynn (Jeff) Caldwell, Nancy White, , Kelly (Clint) Cornett; Son: John Kevin Busby; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren. Sisters: Joyce Yocum, Alice (Leon) Stallings, Janie Anderson; Brothers: Carl Busby, Lawrence Busby; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by his mother Leassie Busby and father Purteman Busby; Granddaughter Emily Fay Busby; Grandmothers: Alice Smith Howard and Cora Busby; Grandfathers: Elige Howard and William Franklin Busby; Sister; Ida Jessaline Janes; Brother; Purteman Owen Busby, Jr.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 21, 2021, 11:00 AM ~ 12:00 PM, at Howardtown Baptist Church. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will be held at Howardtown Baptist Church Cemetery. St Stephens Funeral Home will be directing.
