He was the 2nd child of his 5 sibilings. Charles graduated from Leroy High School while also attending votech in Chatom, AL. After high school he worked for Brown & Root as a Pipefitter his entire working career. He was an avid hunter in his younger years and also enjoyed planting vegetable gardens. Charles planted these gardens for widow women and would pick the vegetables and take them to the women in the community. Charles was the caretaker of his mother's goats and loved showing them off. Charles was a homebody that liked to ride his tractor, spend time outside, liked to read, and really liked to watch Alabama Football. He was a great character, always trying to get a rise out of people and was always contemplating on what to say next and how to get someone in trouble. Charles was a family man who loved his family dearly, especially his daughter, Sallyanna, and his grandchildren, Sawyer and Saylor.
