Clarice Yawn Etheredge, 91, of Chatom, passed away December 31, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Etheredge was born in Chatom, Al and was a graduate of Washington County High School, Livingston University, and The University of Southern Mississippi. She was a life long educator, having taught in Houston and Corpus Christi, Texas, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She retired from Washington County Board of Education where she had served as a classroom teacher, Guidance Counselor, Child Nutrition Supervisor, and Title l Coordinator.
Mrs. Etheredge enjoyed watching the birds at their feeders, reading and watching the news. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. She never missed any sporting events and they fondly called her Gran.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Addie Yawn, and husbands, Robert Zane Montgomery of Sylvester, Texas and Randall Etheredge of Chatom, Al.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Bobby (Dianne) Montgomery and Betsy (Jerry) Turner; grandchildren, Zane Montgomery, Wyatt (Julianne) Montgomery, and Brady (Sarah) Turner; great-granddaughter Perry Harper Montgomery.
Visitation for Mrs. Etheredge will be held at Chatom United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to be held at Fairhope Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
