Clyde Kimbrough Batley

December 13, 1933 - December 13, 2025 Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Clyde Kimbrough Batley, Sr. (92 years) stepped into eternity on December 13, 2025. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Clyde was born in Leroy, AL on December 13, 1933 to William Charlie Batley and Eupulena Dame Batley. He was a proud graduate of Leroy High School, Class of 1953. After which he joined the military and served our wonderful country with honor and dignity. Clyde later met his beautiful wife, Mary Louise Strickland Batley, from Chatom, Alabama, and was wed on December 20, 1957. They spent 63 wonderful years raising 4 children, Kim, Cary, David, and Dina. He was a devout grandfather and great grandfather. Clyde retired from Boise Cascade after 26 years of hard work and dedication to the job. Afterwards Clyde and his wife enjoyed 24 of their retired years soaking in the simplicity of the Alabama River in Millers Ferry, AL. He always had a line in the water and taking in God's amazing creation. Clyde was known for his immense smile, hand pats, and infectious belly laughs. His greatest passions were fishing, adventurous travels, vibrant gardens, but most of all spending time with his grandkids. Clyde is survived by: Sons: -Clyde Kimbrough Batley, Jr. (Kathy) of Nederland, TX -Cary Batley (Shannon) of Chatom, AL -David Batley (Darla) of Gainestown, AL Daughter: Dina Batley Pearce (Clay) of Leroy, AL 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren Sister: Mary Lou Batley Jones of Jackson, AL Preceded in death by: Wife of 63 years, Mary Louise Strickland Batley Parents: William Charlie Batley and Eupulena Dame Batley Siblings: Elma Powell, Elizabeth Walker, Rosaleigh Mcintye, Willie Y.
