Clyde Eugene "Bubba" Walker

Clyde Eugene "Bubba" Walker, 70, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021. He was a native of Washington County, Alabama and a resident of Leroy, Alabama. He was called "Bubba" by all friends and family including his grandchildren. Bubba was a graduate of Leroy High School Class of 1970. He was involved in football, track, F.F.A. and was voted most valuable defensive player & captain of the year. While in high school he played linebacker and offensive guard for the LHS Bears football team. He played along with Ottis, Murray Jr. & Worth and they were tight with Coach  Braun and Coach Scoggins. Bubba earned a football scholarship to Jones Junior College but got side tracked before he made it to college and ended up earning an associates degree in welding from Hobson Technical Jr College. After high school he married his girlfriend of 5 years Dianne Downey, they were married almost 50 years. His first job after college was welding on the new Jackson Bridge and then he worked as a welder on the George Wallace tunnel in Mobile. Bubba then went to Allied (Boise, PCA) as a millwright and retired from there after 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and tinkering in his shop. Bubba loved Alabama Football and his camp he built. He fought a hard fight against his illness. Bubba will be missed by all his family and friends.
