Dallas Dewey Carpenter, 87, was called home on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Mr. Carpenter was a true family man, and his children named him as a wonderful dad. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who fondly called him "Paw Daddy".
Mr. Carpenter was an outdoorsman who loved growing a garden to keep his family fed. He was also proud of his red and yellow rose bushes. He was an excellent carpenter and painter. He was a man of many words and loved his sayings, although, some are unmentionable. One of his favorite sayings was "sho-nuff". He hated for any door to be slammed, whether it be a cabinet door or the screen door, and you better not leave a room and leave the light on. He enjoyed drag racing with his nephews in his 68 Ford step-side. It was very fast. He would also race anyone that was willing to race him, wherever it may be. He will be dearly missed by all of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by: His sons, Mark (Theresa) Carpenter, Thad (Phyllis Williams) Scarborough; daughters, Annette (Larry) Fulford, KK Carpenter, Theresa (David) Singleton, and grandchildren, Melissa Overstreet, Amber (Coby) Kyle, David (Krystal) Singleton Jr, Whitney (Merle) Cochran, Lauren (Jason) Vesely, Ashley (Brian) Kimmel, Joshua Stevens, Kinleigh Carpenter, Shalee Carpenter, Jacob Scarborough, Taylor Scarborough, Jack Scarborough, Cameron Taylor, and Cortney Dicks.
Mr. Carpenter is preceded in death by: His parents, Leslie and Ellen Carpenter; brothers, Clarence Carpenter, Jimmy Lee Carpenter, Thad Carpenter, Felix Carpenter; sisters, Myrtle McCaine, Mary McCaine, Alice Richardson, Ruth Carpenter, Kathlean Poole, and son, Robbie Scarborough.
