Dannie Elvin Williams

Dannie Elvin Williams passed away at his home in Fruitdale, Al on April 16, 2024.

     Mr. Williams was born to his parents, Leland and Mary Williams, in Waynesboro, Mississippi. Mr. Williams and Mrs. Cindy lived and raised their family in Fruitdale, Al. They were married for 45 years. 

     Mr. Dannie was a logger for many years. Logging ran in his family.  He loved logging along side his dad, uncles, son and cousins. Logging was his passion. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved teaching his children how to fish along side a creek bank. In his eyes, this was quality time with his family. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was known to them as Pee-Paw and Paw-Paw.  But first and foremost he was a true man of God. He always put Him first.

     Mr. Williams was quite the character. If he liked you, he would always be cutting up and picking with you. He was also a very kind hearted and caring man. He would give the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He loved to garden. Every year he would plant this beautiful garden. He would pick the fruits of his labor and give to those in his community, family and friends. You could always see him in a sleeveless t-shirt working in his garden or anywhere he went.  Mr. Williams will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him.

     Mr. Williams is survived by: His wife, Cindy Murphy Williams; daughters, Holly Nashae Williams and Molinda Jo Patterson; son, Ausbon (Sarah) Williams and grandchildren, Alyssa Crenshaw, Katie Williams, Landon Williams, Daniel Yates, Brayden Patterson, Leland Thornton, Spencer Williams, Tyler Yates, Drake Thornton, Jacob Yates and Joseph Williams.

     Mr. Williams is preceded in death by: His parents, Leland Adis Williams and Mary Brewer Williams; son, Daniel Williams and grandchild, Lucas Yates.

A visitation will be held at South Oak Grove Church in Fruitdale, Al on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:00 am, funeral at 11:00 am, with Bro. Dean Brown officiating and interment to follow at Grace Williams Cemetery.
