Davey Douglas Lankford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Davey Lankford, better known to the community as "Big Dave", on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Davey was a Big Man with an even bigger heart. He married his sweetheart Lana after graduating and they started their family; raising two outstanding young men, Dave and Jordan whom he loved with all his heart. "Big Dave" also had a very special place in his heart for his grand baby Ellie from the moment she was born she had him wrapped around her little finger. Davey had a fur baby that also had his love and affection named Pop Eye and they were mostly inseparable. He also enjoyed cooking. hunting, fishing and just being outside. He was one that loved nature and was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed get togethers with family and friends whether it was grilling or frying fish. He loved spending time with his family and friends just hanging out and talking cause" Big Dave" loved to talk and would talk about anything. Yes, he was quite the character. Davey, as well as the love he had for family and friends, had a special love and respect for the elderly. He enjoyed the company of everyone. Davey was the kind of person that took care of not only people, but  also animals. He loved taking care of his chickens and even treated them with compassion as he has everything. It is no doubt that Big Dave left us all with some wonderful memories and when we think of those special times, we will smile. Big Dave, you left us too soon. But you will forever remain in all the hearts that you touched. Rest easy" Big Dave".  You are a true Legend.

A Grave side service will be Wednesday 09/24/2025 at Wagarville Baptist Cemetery in Wagarville Alabama at 11:00 A.M

Davey is survived by his wife: Lana Daugherty Lankford. Sons: Dave (Maddie) Lankford and Jordan Lankford                                                                                                                                      Brother: Troy Lankford Granddaughter: Ellie Grace Lankford.

He is Preceded in Death by his Parents: Roy "Butch" Lankford and Joan Harris Lankford , Grandparents: John "Cooter" Harris and Vivian Downey Harris, Hez and Vera Lankford.

Officiating will be Bro, Steve Foster.
