Donald Richardson, passed away at age 83. Donald met his wife, Virginia in 1958 and they were married in 1959. They had 3 children. They lived in Atlanta for about 7 years, then moved back to Mobile AL, and worked at Presley Electric for a couple of years. Donald helped install the First Pole Lights along interstate 65. He also worked for Brown and Root for some time. Donald worked at Scott Paper for a few years. He met George Vance from Mobile AL, who taught Don everything pertaining to Electrical and operating a business. Don got his license in 1972 when he started his business "Richardson Electric Contracting Company." Don and some of his family members worked there until he old it to 2 employees. Donald's business today is still called Richardson Electric Contracting Co., LLC. After retiring Donald and his family moved to State Line, MS. He raised vegetable gardens with Velvet Beans, Vetch, etc. and planted fields for Turkey and Deer. Donald planted plum, apple, Fig, and other fruit trees. He also grew Blueberries and Japanese Persimmons. Donald loved tinkering in his work shop. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Creeks, Rivers, and their pond. For 17 years "Goldie" , his red hair mix dachshund and cocker spaniel, stayed by his side. "Bear" (another dog) was also a constant companion. Donald raised goats, cows, guineas (chicks), turkeys, and Blue Slate Peacocks. He loved his family and he taught them so many things in life, especially farming. Donald was known as "Poppa Don" by his Grands and others. He enjoyed going to "Downtown State Line" and drinking coffee with his friends. Everyone who knew him will miss him.
