Ellen Johnston, 65, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Ms. Johnston was a wonderful, God fearing woman that loved her family. She retired from Olin Chemical after many years of being a Lab Technician.
Ellen enjoyed gardening, and she loved flowers. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her family. They were her whole world, especially her grandchildren. They fondly called her Mimi. She loved being on the water and would get her family together and spend time on the river at a sandbar. It was pure joy for her to see her family having fun and making memories with them.
Ms. Johnston loved holidays, especially Christmas. She was also a huge Alabama fan. She loved the Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalms 66:20. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer nor his mercy from me. . She would always say, "Every time I read this , it makes my heart leap." She loved to watch Joyce Myers on TV. She enjoyed reading her book titled, God Has Called Us to Live in Peace. Her favorite scripture from that book was, John 16:33. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble but take heart! I have overcome the world.
Ellen will be sorely missed by all of her family, friends and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
