Eva Wheat Obituary

Eva Mae Driskell Wheat was born on November 25, 1938 and passed away on January 10, 2021. She was 82 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Dolbare Driskell and Leland Driskell, her husband, Charles Wheat and daughter Becky Lynn Wheat.

She is survived by two sons, Charles "Buddy" Wheat, Jim (Susie) Wheat and one beloved granddaughter, Shannon Wheat, who was her world. Three brothers, Earl Driskell, Leland Driskell, Billy Driskell and one sister, Ann Gartman and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. 

Mrs. Wheat was retired from Ciba Geigy where she worked for 30 years. She was a devoted member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Wagarville where she served on numerous committees and was very involved in all ministries of the the church. She was an active part of her community and loved to cook, bake and take care of people. She was famous for her red velvet cake, pies and peach cobbler.

She was a very loved lady and was called by many names - but to her only granddaughter, she was known as "My Granny".

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Rev. George Weaver and Rev. Erin Bevis will be officiating the service.

St. Stephens Funeral Home will be directing.

Graveside service will be on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wagarville, AL.

Pallbearers ~ Billy Driskell, Eric Driskell, Eddie Driskell, Ernie Driskell, Terry Flowers, Patrick Ellis, Peyton Payne, Austin Payne.
