Frank was born in Colon, Panama to Peter and Ruth Tortorici on June 13, 1949.He passed to his heavenly home on June 4, 2020.
He lived every boy’s dream by playing in the jungle and on the canal. He loved fishing, hunting and many other activities associated with life in Panama. In school He played sports and was in the ROTC.Having grown up in Panama with a wonderful family he had a tremendous respect for family, the military, the veterans and the American flag.
After graduation he came to the States and attended the University of Houston and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career with Alcoa and ended it with Arkema after working there twenty-one years. He had a very successful career, ending as a Global President of one of their divisions.
He and his wife, Darlene, lived in downtown Philadelphia after marrying in the year 2000. They enjoyed seeing the world through the other’s eyes. One of their favorite places was St. John, US Virgin Islands where he enjoyed hiking, snorkeling and all the beauty of nature.
He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. One of his favorite things was mentoring and teaching life’s lessons to people he loved. He was respected and loved by all who knew him.
After retiring at the end of 2006 and moving to Tibbie and Fairhope he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening, friends, family and especially his animals.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth and his father, Peter.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; his sons Matthew Tortorici of Mobile, Lance Cole of Daphne and Bradley Cole and wife Danielle of Wetumpka; grandchildren Garrett Cole, Grae Cole, Mackenzie Cole and Gunter Cole; sister Sandra Roscoe and her husband Richard of Gainesville, Fl and brother, John Tortorici of Inverness, Fl; nieces and nephews. He was blessed to have special people that he chose to be his family. He loved Madison Howard as his granddaughter and Jennifer Howard, Natalie Rogers and were loved like they were his children.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at Tibbie Baptist Church, Tibbie, AL. on Saturday, June 13. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 with service immediately after.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
