Gene Carter O'Neal was born October 4,1953. He passed away at his home on Monday, May 19, 2025. Gene O was a cherished family man,, and someone who embraced life with boundless enthusiasm. Gene O was a proud graduate of Washington County High School, where he shone as a star football player, wearing his #82 jersey with immense pride. He will be remembered not only for his football abilities but also his softball abilities. Beyond his athletic accomplishments, he was known for his unwavering work ethic, Gene O worked of Olin Chemicals as a painter and then worked as Construction pipefitter until his retirement. His generosity and dedication to those around him left a lasting impact on all who knew him. A man who found his greatest joy in family, Gene O relished every moment spent with his loved ones. Gene O's playful spirit and lively sense of humor made him " quite the character," always ready to bring laughter and lite to any gathering. Gene O's presence touched countless lives, and his memory will forever be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, laughter, and devotion will remain alive in the hearts of his family and friends as they honor his remarkable life. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness, joy and family devotion will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Gene Carter O'Neal-- you were truly one of a kind.
Gene O is survived by his Wife Sue Dueitt, Sons, Nicholas Carter O'Neal, Zachary Carter O'Neal and Cameron Bailey Carter O'Neal, Sister, June (James) Stewart, Brother, Charles Reed, Grandchildren, Matthew Carter O'Neal, Mason Carter O'Neal, Elijah Matthew Carter O’Neal, Armani Lavara Carter O’Neal, Kinglon Lamar Carter O'Neal and Great Grandchild, Embreigh Lynette O'Neal. He is preceded in death by his parents, Print and Alice O'Neal , Vernice Reed, Son, Matthew Carter O'Neal, grandson Kingston Lamar Carter O'Neal , Brothers Freddie O'Neal, Sr, Lewis "Lindo" Reed, Jesse Reed ,and sister, Jeanette Reed
