Horace Claude Sullivan, age 85, of Wagarville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday March 24, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on June 26, 1940, to Harris and Claudine Pool Sullivan. Horace was married to the love of his life, Peggy Sullivan, for 61 wonderful years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long-dedicated career at Ciba-Geigy, where he retired after 45 years as an Instrument Engineer. Following retirement, he continued to share his expertise for three more years with Hargrove Engineering. Horrace was a man who loved the outdoors. he found joy in hunting, fishing, and taking walks with his beloved dog, Toby. He was a devoted fan of Alabama Crimson Tide and Leroy Bears football, rarely missing a game. Above all. Horace cherished time with his family. His faith was central to his life, and he was a faithful and active member of Clearwater Assembly of God Church, where he served the Lord and his community with kindness and humility.
Horace is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Sullivan; his son, Ryan Sullivan; his daughter, Paula Sullivan Jones; and his granddaughter, Jamie Elizabeth Jones. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie (Gene) Blount and Doris (Greg) Dungan.
He is Preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Claudie Pool Sullivan, and his brothers, Harris Sullivan, Jr., Wilton Sullivan, and Thomas Lee Sullivan. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services are Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Clearwater Assembly of God Church in Wagarville, Alabama visitation is at 11:00AM funeral is at 12:00PM Interment to follow at Clearwater Assembly of God cemetery.
Officiating the service will be Bro. Jimmie Butts.
Pallbearers are Steve Carpenter, Joey Sullivan, Terry Flowers, Barry Rice, Dallas Sullivan and Austin Sullivan.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ray Savage, Kim Kelley, Tommy Johnson, Bro. Glenn Sullivan, Wilton Sullivan Jr., Leo Thomas, Larry Cunningham, John Loper, John Cox, Terry Allen,Greg Dungan and Gene Blount.
