JB Reed passed away on September 4, 2021, at the age of 91. JB was the second of six children. JB served his Country in The United States Marines. He met the love of his life, Mary, in McIntosh Alabama and they married in 1954 and were married for over 63 years. He taught himself how to play the guitar and sing. JB had been singing and playing the guitar since he was 5 years old. He was well known at "The Fiddlers Convention" in Frankville, AL often winning the Soloist, Buck Dancing and Guitarist. JB even won the Soloist at "The Fiddlers Convention", in April 2021. He won awards at the Jackson Mississippi Fair for singing, playing the Guitar and playing the Harmonica. JB was inducted to the Washington County Hall of Fame a few years ago. JB loved his family to the fullest. His friends were also dear to his heart.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 9, 2021, 10:00-11:00 AM, at Hobson Assembly of God. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Foster, Rev. Jon Brown and Rev. Nick Ross with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing. Interment will be at the Bright Water Cemetery, 8766 Brightwater Rd, Needham, AL 36915.
