James Michael Gable, 59, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, Al.
Mr. Gable was a good noble man that loved to serve his community. After graduating high school, he went on to study to become an EMT and a fire fighter. He loved being able to help save lives in more ways than one. He loved being on the fire trucks and enjoyed being able to teach the new recruits how to be a fire fighter as well. It was a true passion for him.
Mr. Gable loved spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and they fondly called him Papa. He was such a lover of animals. He loved his dog, Lacey and she loved him just as much. She would always be in his lap or laying at his feet. He also enjoyed sitting on his back porch watching the birds at their feeders. His favorite birds to watch were the Cardinals.
Mr. Gable's final act of kindness was giving the gift of life in organ donation.
Mr. Gable is survived by: his wife, Susan Brooke Gable; his daughters, Kristy (Paul) Porath and Kymberley Dawn Gable; his sons, Bobby (Ashley) Gable and Andrew (Danielle) Gable; his brothers, Rickey (Tammy) Gable, Phillip (Anita) Gable and Keith (Paula) Gable; her sister, Melissa (Jody) Carter and 7 grandchildren.
Mr. Gable is preceded in death by: his parents, Barney and Racine Gable.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the new Leroy Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 pm with Sister Polly Bozeman officiating.
