James D Howard

   James "JD" Howard , 81, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at his home in Tibbie, Al.

      Mr. Howard , first and foremost, was a man of God. A beloved husband to his wife, Geraldine Howard, for 60 years. He was a teacher to his five children, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. 

     Mr. Howard could oftentimes be found on his pond, fishing with his hunting dog. He enjoyed raising Beefmaster Cattle and Blackmouth Curs on his farm in Tibbie, Alabama. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others.

    Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Geraldine Howard, his children, James (Amy) Howard, Valerie Howard, Christy (Mitch) Turner, Paula (Rip) Hampton and Candace (Chuck) Carlson, his thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and his sister, Ruth (Ray) Richardson.

    Mr. Howard is preceded in death by his father, Doyal Howard, mother, Bessie Knapp-Howard,  his brothers, Braxton and Judson Howard and his sisters, Mildred Knapp-Richardson and Infant Holly Howard.

A graveside service will be held on October 21, 2023 at Fairhope Baptist Church Cemetery in Tibbie, Al at 12 p.m.
