In Loving Memory of Mr. James Terry Hutto…. On April 16, 2026, the world lost a remarkable soul, Mr. James Terry Hutto, whose unwavering kindness and spirit left an everlasting mark on all who knew him. At the quiet comfort of his home in Jackson, Alabama, he tragically departed from this life, but his legacy will continue to shine for generations to come. Mr. Hutto’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. For many years, he served as a devoted member and Deacon of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, guiding others through his gentle wisdom and steadfast belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. His dedication to faith was matched only by his commitment to his community. For fifty-two years, Mr. Hutto was a valued brother of Macon Lodge #7 in Grove Hill, Alabama, embodying the virtues of fellowship and service. He also spent many years on the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department, where his courage and compassion were evident each time he answered a call for help. In 1970, Terry married his beloved wife, Mrs. Valda Weaver. Together, they nurtured three beautiful children, who grew up admiring their father’s integrity, determination, and work ethic. He led by example, inspiring his children to follow in his footsteps and embrace the values he held dear. For Terry, family was everything. His grandchildren, lovingly calling him "PaPa," were the light of his life—each moment spent with them was precious. He delighted in simple joys: hunting, fishing, woodworking, and sharing laughter at family cookouts. With his hands, he could craft almost anything, but it was the warmth of his heart that truly built the bonds that held his family together. To his friends and loved ones, Terry was more than a man—he was a legend, a source of love and laughter, a beacon guiding others through life’s challenges. The world is forever changed by his absence, but his spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lessons imparted, and the love he gave so freely. Rest peacefully, Mr. Terry. Though your earthly journey has ended, your memory and legacy will echo through hearts and homes, lighting the way for all who follow.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Mrs. Valda Weaver Hutto, sons, Vic (Rebecca) Hutto. Lee (Tori Powell) Hutto, daughter, Susan (Richard) Williams, brother Sammy (Marie) Hutto, sister, Nell (Charles) Hickson, grandchildren, Ric Williams, Jamie Bradley, Nathan Hutto, Jorden Hutto, Cannon Hutto, Barrett Hutto, Zoe Sullivan, Sasha Sinclair, and Six greatgrandchildren.
