Jeanice Baxter Obituary

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Heaven welcomed home one of God’s precious children, Mrs. Jeanice Baxter. Mrs. Jeanice was a woman of rare beauty, not only in countenance, but in the gentle, loving spirit she carried so gracefully each day of her life. She found joy in the simple and sacred wonders of God’s creation, often pausing with childlike awe to admire the beauty around her, as if seeing the world through eyes full of gratitude and wonder. She had a tender heart and gifted hands, especially in her garden, where she, lovingly planted, nurtured, and gathered the fruits of her labor. To her, every bloom, every harvest, and every jar she carefully canned was a reminder of God’s goodness and provision. Her love for her family was deep and unwavering. She cherished her children beyond measure and found great joy in bringing them together, especially around a table filled with home-cooked meals made with love. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as MawMaw, and the bond they shared was something truly special. Their visits brought light to her days, and the love between them was rich, pure, and immeasurable. Mrs. Jeanice also carried a beautiful spirit of adventure, delighting in travel and in the blessing of seeing new places. Yet among all the lovely things God made, her flowers held one of the dearest places in her heart—especially her roses, which she treasured so deeply. Mrs. Jeanice Baxter was a gentle and gracious soul, and her presence brought warmth, comfort, and love to all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are grateful for the blessing of having known and loved her. Her memory will remain like the fragrance of her roses—sweet, lasting, and forever cherished in our hearts.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Dewain) Dearmon, Delaine (Dan) Roscow, Deborah Sellers and Toni (Ronnie) Purvis, Sons, Roger Baxter and Charles Edward Baxter, Sisters, Voncile (Darrell) Holmes, JoAnn (Bill) Lane and Ida (Bobby) Williams, Thirteen grandchildren and Nineteen greatgrandchildren.
