Jim Arnold Smith, 77, of Vinegar Bend, Al, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Jim was a veteran in the US Army, and a proud member of the American Legion Post 164 in Citronelle, Al.
Mr. Smith loved fishing and hunting and had a passion for farming and taking care of his cows.
Jim was a hard working man that loved his family. His greatest accomplishment in life was his children and grandchildren, who fondly called him Papa.
Mr. Smith will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Mr. Smith is survived by: His wife, Linda Smith; son, Aidan Smith; daughters, Rachel Smith and Glenda (Eric) Wagner; brother, Terry Smith; grandchildren, Dylan Clardy, Will Clardy, Cameron Coon and Corey King, and great grandchild, Blakely King.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by: Parents, Gerald and Rachel Smith; brothers, Gerald Smith, Newton Smith and Ted Smith; Sisters, Edna Wilkerson and Geraldine Horn, and daughter, Wendy Smith.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Burbank First Pentecostal Church in Vinegar Bend, Al at 11:00 AM, funeral at 12:00 PM, with Bro. Danny Box and Bro. James Bice officiating and interment to follow at Okwakee Cemetery.
