John Henry Marcet, 79, passed away at home Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Born on August 7, 1943, John grew into a man who loved God and served Him as a faithful member of the Church of Christ for many years. A favorite song of his was “I’m Going Home” by David Phelps. Married for 31 years to his loving wife Sheila, John treasured his family time. His grandchildren, who called him Pawpaw, were the light of his life.
He was a construction worker by trade and was the type of character who you did not forget once you met him. He loved playing golf and watching Alabama football. He will be greatly missed by all.
John is survived by:

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at River Hill Baptist Church in Salitpa, Alabama, with the funeral to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the River Hill Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service. Bro. David Sargeant will officiate and St. Stephens Funeral Home will direct.
