John Stuart Sanborn "Jackie" as he was called by those who knew and loved him, passed away at his home on June 30,2023.He was born in Plateau, Alabama on November 14,1942 to his parents Mr. Stuart Edson Sanborn and Helen Francis Sanborn. Mr. Jackie was a graduate of Vigor high school and upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. where he served a term of four years. Mr. Jackie was an active member of Jones Chapel Church in Gainestown and a Member of the Electrical Workers 505. Mr. Jackie enjoyed gardening, watching T.V and spending time with his family and beloved fur baby Cassie. He and his loving wife, Mrs. Helen enjoyed every moment of their life together. Mr. Jackie was known for his many quirky sayings, none of which could you repeat in church, but funny nonetheless. Mr. Jackie and Mrs. Helen had a special love for each other. So special, that she lovingly nicknamed him "Jackie Poo". He and Mrs. Helen were married on November 29, 1995 and according to Mrs. Helen 29 Years was just not long enough as she will miss him sorely. Mr. Jackie leaves behind a legacy of five children, eighteen grand children, seventeen great grands and two great great grands, all whom are gonna miss their beloved Paw Paw. An even- tempered man, Mr. Jackie was very consistent so everyone knew what to expect from him. His sense of humor put everyone at ease around him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be 1:30pm at Jones Chapel Protestant Church in Gainestown, Al funeral to follow at 2:30pm. Interment will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Bro. Benny Crawford will officiate and St Stephens Funeral Home will direct.
