John "Shorty" Lewis Seibert, Jr., 87, died at his home in Sunflower on July 13, 2021. Born in Prichard, he spent his teen years between Washington and Clarke counties. A 1954 graduate of Jackson High School, John married and moved to El Paso, Texas, where he worked 4 years as a US Air Force B-25 mechanic, before settling back in Washington County. He spent many years on the river and in the woods before and after retiring from Olin in 1998.
A loving father, husband, and papa, John was also a favorite uncle to many. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann "Patsy" Downey Seibert; one daughter, Teddy (Jack) Busby; one grandchild, John Raine Gordon; 2 sisters, Janis Lowe and Joan Payne; and multiple in laws, nieces, and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John Lewis Seibert, Sr. and Lillian Dykes Seibert; and 4 sisters, Patricia Payne, Lillian Taylor, Louise Adams, and Peggy Clements.

Visitation will be Friday, July 16, 2021 10:00 AM ~ 11:00 AM at Sunflower United Methodist Church in Sunflower, AL. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Barbara Brewi & Bro. Randy Grimes officiating. St. Stephens Funeral Home will be directing. Interment will be at Sunflower United Methodist Church Cemetery.
