Lana Denise (Keith) Smith

Lana Denise Keith Smith, 68, of Wagarville, AL passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2024. Lana was born on October 15, 1955, to Frank "Nollie" and Betty Lankford Keith in Wagarville, AL. She is a graduate of Leroy High School and the University of Mobile.

Lana loved her family and her community tremendously. We would love to list all the people that she loved so dearly. You know who you are, and our hope is you always remember her love for you and her beautiful smile. We hope her memory brings you joy.

She was a bus driver, coach, and substitute teacher for Washington County Schools for 15 plus years where she was able to love and nurture hundreds of children that remained a part of her always. She shared memories often and she remembered all of her "children". If you knew Lana, you knew she loved sports and especially loved the University of Alabama. She was a loyal and committed fan, dare we say fanatic. Roll tide! For this reason, we ask everyone attending the service to wear red or Alabama gear. She would want nothing else.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by: her parents, Frank "Nollie" and Betty Keith; her husband and soul mate, Jeff "Poncho" Smith and her aunt and mother figure, Jeannette Perry..

Mrs. Smith is survived by: her son and beloved treasure, Travis "TJ" (Ashleigh) Smith; stepsons, David Smith and Damon (Sherri) Smith; aunt and mother figure, Jimmie Griffin; brothers, Frank "Bucky" Keith and Alan (Marcia) Keith; nieces, Betty (Jeremy) Johnson and Stacey Gaye Keith; nephew, Russell (Sommer) Keith; great nieces, Brooklyn Keith and Reanna Johnson; great nephew, Drake Keith and special friends, Kurt and Carla Long, Greg and Rebecca Chastain and their children, Tyler, John Colby and Alyssa.

A celebration of life will be held on June 22, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, service will be at 2:00 PM at Midway Assembly of God Church, 12533 CR-34, Saint Stephens, AL 36569
