Larry E Walker

Larry E. Walker passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the age of 70.  Family and Friends were present on Sunday when Larry's soul left his body and went to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.   He was a graduate of Jackson High School, class of '71.  Larry met the love of his life, Susan, in high school and were married after graduation for 49 years.  He had been a member of Peniel Baptist Church since childhood.  Larry retired from Boise Cascade as an Heavy Equipment Operator.  He was an outdoors person who loved to hunt deer, turkey and fish.  Larry enjoyed raising chickens and loved planting gardens.  When asked what all did he plant, they would tell you "well it depends on what mood he is in that day".  Larry loved to grow and eat from his many types of fruit trees.  Different types were, apple, pear, peach, apricot, fig and muscadine.  Larry and his mother enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables.  He made different flavors of jelly and figs.  On Saturdays during football season, you would find Larry watching Alabama Football, either at his house or friends and family.  He loved to travel, especially to the Mountains.  Larry and his two sons, Christopher and Amon, recently traveled to the Great Smokey Mountains.  He will be remembered by his preciseness in everything that he did. Larry will also be remembered by his love for everyone that he met.  He was a super friend and a family man.  Larry will be missed by all.

Services will be held Saturday May 28, 2022, at Peniel Baptist Church.  Visitation from 10:00 AM ~ 11:00 AM, Funeral at 11:00 AM and Interment following at Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery.  Officiating the Funeral Service will be Bro. Fred Odom and Bro. Bill Dortch.  Officiating the Graveside Service will be Rev. Digger Creel.  St. Stephens Funeral Home directing all services.
