Lisa (Melissa) Jo (Johnson) Parnell

Lisa (Melissa) Jo Parnell, 57, passed away at Mobile Infirmary on Monday, February 13, 2023. A native of Washington County, Lisa was born April 2, 1965. She worked at the silk mill in Jackson for a time but was primarily a homemaker. She was an easy-going lady who collected porcelain dolls and angels and loved taking pictures. She was what is known as a homebody, preferring to stay close to home, though she did enjoy occasional trips to the mountains, where she loved to see the foliage.

However, Lisa’s greatest love was for her grandchildren. ‘Mimi’ loved to spend time with and spoil Kendall and Grey. They loved her just as much as she loved them.

Mother: Flora Moseley Johnson

Daughter: Teresa (Keith) McCully

Brothers: Emory Clifton Johnson, Jr., Daniel (Charity) Johnson

Sister: Lanette (Jamie) Mendoza

Special friend: Joe Knowles

Two grandchildren: Kendall McCully, Grey McCully

She is preceded in death by:

Father: Emory Clifton Johnson, Sr. 

Infant son: John Anthony Booth

A visitation will be held at Wagarville Baptist Church in Wagarville, Alabama, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m  with the funeral service to follow at 11:00. Interment will be after the funeral at Clearwater Assembly of God Cemetery. Bro. Bill Dortch and Bro. Jason Carpenter will officiate and St. Stephens Funeral Home will direct.
