Mrs. Yocum departed this world on June 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will always be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, whose life was filled with warmth and compassion. Family was the cornerstone of Mrs. Yocum's life. Her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Grandmaw," were the light of her world, and her love for them knew no bounds. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, creating memories that will forever remain in their hearts. Her unwavering devotion to her family was a testament to the boundless love she carried within her. Mrs. Yocum's vibrant spirit extended to her passions and hobbies, which brought joy not only to her but to those around her. She was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, cheering with enthusiasm for her beloved team. Her love for sports was matched only by her green thumb and artistic talents. She found great joy in growing flowers that brought beauty to her surroundings and cross-stitching pieces that were crafted with care and love. Professionally, Mrs. Yocum dedicated many years to Crowne Health in Citronelle, Alabama, where she served as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her commitment to her work reflected her caring nature, and she made a profound impact on the lives of her colleagues and patients alike. Her diligence and compassion in her profession were a reflection of her deep-seeded desire to help and uplift others. Mrs. Yocum's life was a shining example of how one person’s kindness and dedication can create ripples of positivity in the lives of many. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. While her physical presence may no longer grace this world, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and resilience. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by: Stepmother Nelda Dunn, Mother In-law, Joyce Yocum. Daughter: Michelle (Naman)Taylor. Son: James G. Yocum. Brothers: Allen (Sherry) Gardner, Aaron (Annalee)Gardner, Curt (Teresa) Stokley and Brandon (Kelsey) Stokley. Sister: Robin Stokley. Grandchildren: Lari (Brandon) Byrd, Kasey Rainwaters, Lana Sipes, Alexis Yocum, Isaiah Yocum, Lyberty Yocum and Ryver Yocum. Great Grandchildren: Coltyn Stinson and Saylor Rainwaters.
She is Preceded in death by: Husband: James L. Yocum Jr. Parents: Audis Glen and Inez Gardner. Brother: Andrew Gardner Son: Christopher Cain Yocum.
Services will be Saturday July 5, 2025, at Tibbie Baptist Church in Tibbie, Alabama visitation is at 11: 00A.M funeral is at 12: 00P.M Interment to follow at Tibbie Baptist Cemetery.
