Margaret Pritchett Obituary

Our beloved Margaret Pritchett, 77, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024. Although she left her earthly home, she received her heavenly reward, a new healthy body, and she will spend eternity rejoicing with the angels and those loved ones who have gone before her.

Margaret was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a resident of Citronelle AHEPA Senior Living facility. She grew up in Hobson, and raised her children there before moving to Clarke County. She later returned to Hobson, where she lived until she could no longer live independently. Margaret was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church in Wagarville.

Beyond her family, Margaret found joy in simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo and cards with her friends, volunteering at veterans homes in the area, and working in her flower beds. Her smile lit up the room and her quick wit always brought laughter to those around her.

Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life, and her love for them was immeasurable. She wrote a simple note to her family: "I love all of you. Please don't be sad, I will see you later. Love Mama, Granny Lue."

We love you, Mama, Granny Lue, and will cherish our memories. We will see you later.

She is survived by her brother Rudolph Thompson (Bertha) of Orange Beach, her two children, Ann Wood (Dave Harbour) of Gulf Shores, and Mary Lue Anderson (Chet Anderson) of Mobile, six grandchildren, Amy Davis (Garrett Davis), Ashli Hodge (Stephen Lee), Alexis Hodge, Dalton Harrison, Eric Anderson, Kelsey McCameron, and six great-grandchildren Jaidyn Davis, Ivyana Davis, Adalyn Davis, Braxton, Gabby, Keaton McCameron, and many nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mohun and Thelma Cagle Thompson, brother Willie (Pistol) Thompson, sister Barbara (Bob) Newton, grandson Christopher Carlisle, and nephew T. C. Dearmon.

Visitation will be held at St. Stephens Funeral Home, 8654 County Road 28, in St. Stephens, Al  on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM, funeral at 2:00 PM with Nelson Thompson officiating, and interment to follow at Hobson Assembly of God Cemetery.

A special thanks go out to Vital Caring Hospice, niece Gayla Patrick, her nurses Angie Phillips and Rhonda Killian, complex manager Deborah Boothe, and her many special friends, including CC Cunningham, and Ann Baker at Citronelle AHEPA Senior Living facility who became her honorary sisters and brothers and helped care for her until the end. They loved her as their own and she loved them equally as much.
