Mary Joyce Reeves of Jackson, Alabama went to be with Jesus on October 13, 2022. Her 83 years on Earth were filled with faith, family, and Friends. Joyce was truly gifted at loving others, and she gave that love unconditionally. She was always there when anyone needed her. Family meant the world to her. She and Jim Reeves, her husband of 60 years, were active in Mardi Gras in Mobile, AL for many years, serving as the 1973-74 King and Queen of the 49ers Ball. Joyce cherished her daughter, Laura Reeves Townsend, and took great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will forever be known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren as well as their kids and an untold number of family and friends. Joyce was a longtime member of Springfield Protestant Methodist Church in Springfield, AL (Sandflat) where she was raised. Many of her fondest memories were formed there. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Jim Reeves, mother Louise Thomas (Dungan), father Monroe Dungan, brother Eudell Dungan, and sister Cheryl (Dungan), Morgan. She is survived by her sister Scarlet Cherry ( Milton), daughter Laura Reeves Townsend ( Kim), 3 grandkids Joey Cramblitt (Lisa), Brandy Sullivan ( Shawn), and Joy McGill (Brady), and 7 great grandkids James Cramblitt; Connor, Emory, and Nolan Sullivan; Amelia, Liam, and Ellie McGill. Services will be at Springfield Methodist Church on Saturday, January 14, 2023 , at 10:30 AM. Lunch will be served for all who attend. The family will be going to Peniel Cemetery in McVay, AL to place her and Poppie's ashes. All are welcome to come with us. There will not be a graveside service.
