Mettie Lucille Wade, 85, passed away at Mobile Infirmary on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Born March 5, 1938, Mrs. Lucille grew into a lady who loved God and served Him as she attended Bolen Town church for many years. Married for well over 60 years to her husband, Mrs. Lucille treasured her family time. Her grandchildren, who called her Grandma, were the light of her life.
Mrs. Lucille worked as a lace burner for Vanity Fair until her retirement. Remembered as a “good woman”, she was an excellent cook who hosted family for all of the holidays. She loved birds, her flowers, gardening, and the Bible. Mrs. Lucille enjoyed her downtime by watching old tv shows such as The Waltons and Little House On The Prairie, and an occasional trip to the beach. She will be missed by all.

Grandchildren: Shana, David, Adam, Aaron, George, Tabitha, Jamie

She was preceded in death by:

Parents: Elijah Gibbeon Sullivan, Sr. and Essie Alday Sullivan
Son: George Wade, Jr.
Brothers: John Sullivan, Roy Sullivan, Elijah Sullivan, Jr., Travis Sullivan
Sisters: Irene Buckley, Asaline Suggs, Patricia Atchison
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Clearwater Assembly of God cemetery in Wagarville, Alabama, with interment to follow. Bro. Glenn Sullivan and Bro. Jimmy Butts will officiate and St. Stephens Funeral Home will direct.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Kendrick, Bobby Atchison, Adam Wade, Aaron Wade, Walker Bennett, Hayden Bennett.
