Nellie Grace (Garris) Marshall
Born 2 August 1927, to the parentage of Benjamin W. Garris and Nellie I. (Tew) Garris.
On Sunday, 22 March 2020, "Miss Nellie" left her earthly life to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. A God Fearing, Loving, Caring, Friendly Woman are words that best describes her.
Growing up in Aquilla, AL. she taught herself to play the piano and guitar. "Making Music" with family and friends filled many days and nights. "Miss Nellie" started work at The Old Vanity Fair Sewing Plant, worked at The Cam Sewing Factory, and Cold Creek Chemical Plant until recently. "Miss Nellie" lived at her home in Sunflower, AL. Anyone passing by could see her mowing, raking leaves, building or repairing things around her home.
"Miss Nellie" was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Joseph B. Garris and Murray L. Garris, first husband Ray E. Etheredge and second husband Elmer M. Marshall, two sons, Thomas M. Marshall, Robert J. Marshall, and a daughter, Mary Frances Marshall.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis E. Etheredge (Pat), Daniel G. Marshall, and a daughter Mildred "Millie" Etheredge. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
"Miss Nellie" will live on in fond memories of all who knew and loved her.
