Mrs. Goodson went home to be with our Heavenly Father on April 17th, 2025. Though Penny was born in Alabama, she spent the majority of her life in Panama City, Florida. She was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football. She relished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who fondly called her Mimi. Her love for them was immeasurable, and they reciprocated it wholly.
Mrs. Goodson worked at Piggly Wiggly in Mt. Vernon, Alabama, where she was a beloved figure. Her father built the boat featured in the movie "The Perfect Storm", The Andrea Gail, which was named after Penny, and she had the honor of Christening it.
Known for her strength and independence, Mrs. Goodson was a woman who, despite her small stature, could take care of herself and stand her ground. She had a special love for her fur baby named, “Puddin” along with all who had the pleasure of knowing her and they will miss her dearly.
Mrs. Goodson's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her passion for football, and her dedication to her work and community. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Mrs. Goodson was cherished by all who knew her.
Mrs. Goodson is survived by her mother, Mrs. Tommie Turner, her son, Martin "Julianna" Davis, her daughter Kimberly Howell, brothers, Paul "Glenda" Perry and Sibley Perry Jr., sisters Teresa "John" Miller, and Tammy 'Tim" Lee, grandchildren, Martin Davis, Mia Davis, Madilyn Davis, Hailey Davis and Grayson Howell.
Mrs. Goodson is preceded in death by her father, Sibley Perry and her brother, Michael Jenkins.
