Penny Delois (Scruggs) Henderson

Penny Delois Henderson, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, at the age of 61.  She graduated from Clarke County High School class of 1978.  While in school, Penny played the Trumpet for the CCHS Band.  After high school, Penny graduated from Patrick Henry College with a Degree in Forestry.  She enjoyed working for the Alabama Forestry Commission to extinguish forest wildfires.  Penny also loved the outdoors, fishing, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. When her children were young, she enjoyed being very involved in their field trips, being a Girls Scouts Leader to Troop 409, and teaching their Sunday school class at Stave Creek Baptist Church. Penny's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because she loved cooking and gathering with family.   Her family has always cherished her coooking, especially her turkey dressing and banana pudding.  Penny loved her Bible and the Lord and anyone that knew her knew that she had a big, gracious heart. She was a loving devoted wife, mother and "MeeMaw".  Penny's kindness, love and memories will be cherished by her family and friends always.

There will be a Graveside Service Thursday July 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Magnolia Cemetery on Piney Wood Dirt Road Grove Hill Alabama.  Officiating will be Bro. Fred Odom with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing.
