Penny Kay Newbill, age 62, of Jackson, Alabama, passed away on December 31, 2025. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, known for her selfless heart and deep love for her family. Her greatest joy was being “Meme” to her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. When her children were young, she devoted herself fully to being a stay-at-home mom, creating a home filled with comfort, laughter, and love. Few memories were more cherished than stepping off the school bus to the familiar smell of something freshly baked—cookies, brownies, or a sweet treat she had made just for them. Those simple acts of care spoke volumes about who she was: a mother who found joy in nurturing her family and made everyday moments feel special.
She is survived by her mother, Margie Everett of Bigbee, AL; her loving husband of 38 years, Carlton Newbill; her children, Christy (Lee) Rollin of Bay Minette, AL, Jennifer (Kenneth) Dykes of Citronelle, AL and Josh Turner of Bigbee, AL; and her grandchildren, Emilee Dykes, Hannah Dykes, Parker Rollin and Gunner Turner.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Everett; her brother, Jack Everett; her first husband and father to her children, Donald “Dew Drop” Turner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Wesley Chapel in Bigbee, AL, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the service to follow at 12:00 p.m., with Brother Jimmy Butts and Brother Kyle Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lee Rollin, Kenneth Dykes, Parker Rollin, Darrell Napper, Kevin Napper and Jason Moorer.
