     Rebecca Jean Thompson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2024. She was born on September 3,1944 to Norman and Alice Richardson and grew up in Frankville, Alabama. She met the love of her life, James Earl Thompson, and they were married on September 7,1963. They gave life to one son, James Eric Thompson.

     Rebecca, or as most called her, Jean, is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Alice Richardson, her sister, Polly (Bill) Gilley, and her beloved husband, James Earl Thompson. She is survived by her son, James Eric (Wendy) Thompson, her granddaughter Erica Renee (Ron) Mason, her grandson, James Wade (Madison) Thompson, three great-grandchildren, Rusty, Ayden, and Ellary, who brought her so much pride and joy. She is also survived by her sisters, Glyn (Leroy) Faith and Norma (Levone) Busby, along with a host of other family and friends that meant the world to her.

     Jean was a fierce woman who loved life and loved spending time with her family. She loved spending time outdoors and always had beautiful flowers planted everywhere. She loved to cook and took pride in knowing that she was one of the best cooks around. She loved Jesus just as much as she loved her family, and I'm sure she is in Heaven rejoicing and celebrating with Him. 

A visitation will be held at Frankville Baptist Church in Frankville, Al on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM, funeral at 11:00 AM with Bro. Grant Barber and Kim Watts officiating, with interment to follow at Three Forks Baptist Church Cemetery in Frankville, Al.
