Ruth Richardson, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Yesterday, the family celebrated the life of Ruth Richardson, a remarkable woman, as she took her last breath, who blessed so many with her kindness and love. Her hands made countless Nanny biscuits and grilled cheese sandwiches over the years, and while she may have forgotten how in these last few years, those she fed and touched will never forget her.
Mrs. Richardson loved her family deeply and welcomed everyone into her home as if they were her own. She often shared stories of her life growing up in Howard Town, Alabama, and her joy in the simple beauty of nature, especially her beloved hummingbirds.
Mrs. Ruth, after months of illness, her body grew tired, but she was surrounded by the love of her family until the very end and beyond. We now celebrate her transition to a better place, knowing she is fully healed. As we move forward in the days ahead, we will grieve for our loss, but we will also celebrate her, as she has gained her wings. Rest in peace. You will always be in our hearts.
Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible care team from Springhill Hospice. Their compassion and attention were beyond measure, and we will forever be grateful.
