Samuel Carl Hunter, 61, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019. He was a native of Taylor County, Florida and a resident of Washington County, Alabama. He moved to Alabama in 1983 and worked for B&R Construction for awhile. He met his wife of over 33 years, Joyce, at Church - they were married 11 months later. Joyce won his heart by baking coconut pies. Carl attended courses at Bishop State College, Alabama Southern, Faulkner State College, and Auburn University. He earned an equivalent to a masters degree for Vocational Technical Schools. Carl then went to work as a welding instructor for Washington County Vocational Technical School. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, flint napping, and building things made out of metal. Carl was a member of Midway Assembly of God where he held the following positions for many years: Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, Church Cook for Thanksgiving (Grilled Steaks & Boiled Peanuts). Carl was also a pool and ping pong master. Carl had a way of making everyone feel that they were his friend. When he laughed, he laughed with his whole soul. He loved his family, church, and friends very much Carl was a kind, big man and the biggest thing about him was his giving heart.
