Sharon Lowe, of Chatom, Al, passed away on August 28, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born, November 8, 1943 in Lumberton, Ms. As a young girl, she attended School in Baxterville and enjoyed helping her mom and dad, along with her siblings, work on the family farm. She enjoyed playing outside with her brothers and sisters, and also loved their family mule, Jack, who was not only a huge help in the farming, but also a beloved pet. She married her Murdock Murph Burdine in 1962, and together they had four beautiful daughters, Angie, Dawn, Dale and Sharon. They spent much of their time traveling the country with the United States Coast Guard, enjoying many different cities while spending a lot of exciting years together raising their daughters. After her children were all in school, she worked in the medical field in Mobile, Al. until she retired and moved to Chatom, Al.
She loved her family, gardening, decorating her home and was a huge animal lover to her dog, Jack and her three cats. She always provided a loving home to her adored animals which was a huge part of who she was. She loved colorful things, and loved to be around others and have a good time. She always had an open door for family, cooking wonderful meals and she wore an infectious smile while giving loving hugs to everyone that walked through her door.
She was a loving and proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was never reserved with her love and affection. She had ten grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Justine (Aaron), Adam, Julie, Emily (Drew), Joshua (Taylor), Murphy (Tiffany), Mackensie (Samuel) and Miller, and thirteen great-grandchildren, Stacy, Rebecca, Virginia, Michael, Alyssa, Charlotte, Wilder, Caroline, Kasyn, Ella Rose, Kinzlee, Mary Mack and Edward who she loved dearly. She enjoyed spending quality time with grandchildren by playing outside, watching their special shows on tv and she always has special favors for the children when they visited. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and cheered loudly for their success during competition and was always so proud to tell others about them. She always put others in front of herself to make sure everyone was happy and was always willing to support her family whenever necessary.
Sharon died unexpectedly due to health complications. She will forever be missed by her daughters, Angelia B. (Buddy) Deese, , Dawn B. (Steven) Thomas, Carissa B Dement, and Sharon B. (Mike) Mosley; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the multitude of family and friends she had made over her life time.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alma Lowe; her grandchildren, Andrew T. Scott and Joshua A. Dement.
Services will be held at Springbank Baptist Church, 27 Springbank Church Road, Chatom, Al. on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11 a.m.
Interment to follow at Chatom City Cemetery, Chatom, Al.
Bro. Edward Howard will be officiating and St. Stephens Funeral Home will be directing.
